Résumé

We present the stories of two older adults women, María and Ana, affected by chronic diseases, in this particular case, with Arterial Hypertension. There are differences between both of them: Mary lives in an urban environment, while Ana lives in a rural environment. It is relevant that, two women who live in different environment, show great differences in chronic disease perception. It is crucial for health professions to offer a personalized attention, focused on patients life experiences, beliefs, values and environment (cultural, social and familiar), and not only the patho-physiological aspects.
