Zusammenfassung
Type 1 involutional osteoporosis or postmenopausal osteoporosis is currently an important health problem in all developed countries. It especially affects 80% of postmenopausal women. An effective clinical management in any of the stages of this disease is essential to optimally approach and treat it. There are many treatment options to choose from as part of the therapeutic schema of the disease. However, the success of any of these treatments inexorably lies in an early diagnosis. This is crucial in the prevention of possible complications that can arise, such as bone fractures. This paper presents an update of the physiopathological aspects of osteoporosis, as well as the various therapeutic procedures currently used in its diagnosis and clinical approach.
