Résumé
Tobacco use is a severely determined gender practice. In this work, first, the peculiarities of tobacco use, socio-demographic profiles, continuation and abandon referring to intra-gender and inter-gender differences are shown. In second place, the author investigates the believes, images and perceptions of the main myths who explain, supports and justifies the use of tobacco in the context of their everyday lives and like an answer of their material conditions and the femininity exigencies. Finally, it is explained the public policies� role in the deconstruction of these myths.
