Abstract

Since 2004, an interdisciplinary Spanish team has developed a project in the so-called Casa d’Arianna (Pompeii). The archaeological interventions, in addition to allowing us to know the physiognomy of this roman domus, has given us the opportunity to evaluate a set of economic activities developed within this occupational space. Specifically, in the south area of the domus and specifically in the tabernae in the so-called via degli Augustali, a perfumer complex was found. Thanks to this, we can delve into the production process of perfumes, from its origin to its common use in Roman society very used to smell fashionable
