Abstract

We study 6 dog eyes and 2 human eyes perfusing the fixative through a cannulated anterior chamber at controlled pressure. The pressure was stated at 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 cm. of water. Similar tissular structures described in the human eye are described in the exit pathways of the dogo Particularly, the presence in the dog of a yuxtacanalicular tissue is pointed out. As an effect of the pressure of the fixative the phenomenon of «qiant vacuoles» is described in the cells lining the exit pathways, not only in the vascular endothelial cells of the aqueous plexus. The damage caused in the lining cells of the exit pathways, even at medium range pressures, is stressed. The possible artefactual nature of the «qiant vacuoles» is suggested.
