Abstract

Before and after the arrival of the Sephardic Jews in the Ottoman lands, there existed a Jewish community in the city of Ankara. The main aim of this paper is to shed light on the how, where and when, around the very existence of the Ankara Jews. The way their history swung according to the political, economic and social trends; where they dwelt; how deep their history harks back to, and for how long. Assuming the hypothesis that it was the political conditions that fashioned the evolution of this community, we outline the current approach to the Ankara Jews history. This paper is the resulting conclusion after gathering and delving into all the research released on the matter as yet.
