Resumen

The structure of the Lecrin Valley is a graben, or a semigraben, formed by parallel E-W normal faults, mainly located in its southern part, where is limited by the Sierra de los Guajares. The throw of these faults is of the order of 1200 m in its eastern part, but progressively diminishing westwards. These faults moved especially between the Late Miocene and the Pliocene?-Quaternary, but their most recent displacements affect even the Quaternary glads. This valley is the scenary of a very important fluvial incision, within a very active process of regional uplift
