Abstract
In this article we discuss the results of a research proyect carried out in the caves of the Sierra Norte de Sevilla Natural Park from 2002 to 2004. No previous data on the cave fauna of this region was recorded. This study enabled the discovery of 65 taxa, most of them new for this region. One of the most remarkable fi nding is a new species of Hexabathynella, described from the material found during this proyect. We discuss also the low number of endemic and troglobites species inhabiting in this caves. We argue the absence of strong historical climatic changes which forced to a troglobitic kind of life in this area.
