Résumé

The question about future ways of living was recently researched by P. Gadanho, who identifies a constellation of Japanese architects that respond to this question through short manifestos and its own work. Part of the material researched, that is related to housing experimental work, serves as a common thread to analyze issues such as the relation between nature and architecture, the proximity between avant-garde and tradition, the relation between interior – exterior, architecture as a social phenomenon and the constant desire to achieve maximum structural lightness and transparency. To conclude the author of this text presents Villa Sudbury and Casa de Jesús, two residential projects related to issues mentioned above and which are affected by the idea of inserting the monumental scale in residential space, in order to create free, immaterial and contemplative spaces.
