Résumé
In this paper, some of the ceramic finds from the archaeological excavation of a plot in the city of Murcia are studied. The stratigraphic succession of the analyzed deposit, which reached -5.25 m deep, dates back from modern levels until the horizons of older occupation. For some of these, we have absolute dates, obtained from: 1) archeomagnetic study of the ceramics themselves, 2) 14C analysis of some organic remains and 3) a numismatic find. Taking into account all of these data and the comparative analysis with other sites, we have set a sequence of evolution of the pottery throughout the IX and X centuries. The study of these ceramics has also provided valuable information about the origins of the city of Murcia and its social characteristics during the first centuries of its history.
