Resumen

This study gathers the results of a theoretical and practical study, on the discrepancies that wewitness today between the reality of the student body, the media of audiovisual communication and the methodological, conceptual and experiential discourses provided by the university. To achieve this, a survey shouldbe conducted to understand the different impact reality and media has on students, taking into considerationhow this affects how future teachers will be identified, and the need to propose new educational methodologiescapable of developing visual literacy and the ability to critique. This is a case study carried out for the PrimaryEducation Degree at the University of Granada; covering cultural semiotics and gender roles or stereotypesthat are manifested in reality, and in the audiovisual media. From a study based on the categorization of differentsocial problems from a gender perspective, students are directed to carry out artivist projects, to questionroles and stereotypes. This should have the added objective of developing critical and social thinking as wellas to investigate the phenomenological processes, and their effectiveness as a Pedagogical Model, for the advancementof empowerment and social change. This is from an aesthetic as well as critical perspective. Theprocess of critical awareness and semiotic and creative subversion, carried out by the students, has shown theeffectiveness of these new ways of understanding the educational experience.
