España e Irán como ejes de diversificación para la Política Energética Europea

Resumen

La alta dependencia exterior en materia energética de la Unión Europea y especialmente del gas ruso, junto con las frecuentes crisis surgidas en el este de Europa y especialmente tras la crisis que desde 2014 se vive entre Rusia y Ucrania, han hecho evidente las excesivas vulnerabilidades energéticas y también políticas de la Unión Europea. Los intentos para reforzar la seguridad energética en Europa han pasado por el desarrollo de correderos energéticos que favorezcan el acceso a nuevos abastecimientos de gas. A pesar de algún éxito muy parcial, éstos se han visto afectados por las dinámicas que afectan a la geopolítica energética en el contexto euroasiático. Esta situación puede mejorar gracias a las posibilidades que en materia de aprovisionamiento de gas ofrecen los ejes español e iraní. España, gracias a su infraestructura y posición puede contribuir al suministro de gas natural liquidado a Europa. Irán, por su parte, y gracias al nuevo contexto político puede resucitar alguno de los grandes proyectos en materia de diversificación perseguidos desde hace años por la Unión Europea.
