Zusammenfassung

Currently, Nobody doubts that regular physical exercise has beneficial effects on health. In fact, the World Health Organization highlights, not only the positive effects on physical health, but also points to benefits on mental and psychological health (reducing stress, depression, or anxiety). Recent studies have shown that physical exercise not only prevents the development of chronic diseases and mental disorders, but also exerts a significant influence on mechanisms and cognitive processes such as attention, cognitive control, memory, perception and learning. However, little is known about an inherent function to the general cognitive performance that is critical to cognitive abilities in humans, i.e., sustained attention. The general purpose of this work was give theoretical knowledge of Sustained or vigilant attention is a higher-order cognitive function that determines the readiness to respond to relevant stimuli and the capacity to effectively allocate attentional resources over time. In such case, the present work shown aerobic fitness as a factor that might positively contribute on the ability to sustain attention.
