Abstract

The study of the sense of humor as a human strength or stable personality trait has frequently been related to positive effects in the field of Physical Education teaching both by teachers and by students. However, the lack of a unitary definition of the construct, the multiple dimensions of the concept, and the variety of measurement instruments used complicate the path of studies that aim to reach conclusive results. For this reason, with the aim of summarizing the main current results of the last two decades and drawing some revealing conclusions on the matter, a theoretical review has been carried out. The keywords used have made it possible to identify a total of four studies dealing with the subject and, in their entirety, the results found indicate positive consequences of their use and trace future avenues of research that help to explain these results.
