Abstract
The authors edit a “vejamen” (curious sample of a literary genre of burlesque character, used in universities and academies, to satirize the newly admitted to them). It was written in the Abadía del Sacro Monte in Granada in 1730 by Don Ignacio de Cárdenas y Rosales. It is a very elaborate and artistic piece that combines prose and verse, Latin and Spanish, history and satire in the baroque register. It offers a historical, philological and metric study of the vejamen and a reconstruction of the later biography of the satirized students.
