Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most prevalent compressive neuropathy. This syndrome refers to the median nerve entrapment in the carpal tunnel formed by the carpal bones and the flexor retinaculum. Among the predisposing factors for its appearance, pregnancy is included, emphasizing that in its etiology, hormonal influence is undeniable. Their most frequent symptoms are described and diagnostic methods, including, in addition to physical examination, electromyography is, without doubt, the most valuable ancillary test for diagnosis is outlined. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common complication of pregnancy , occurring most cases during the third trimester of pregnancy and usually has a bilateral commitment, resulting in a spontaneous remission in many cases in the immediate postpartum period. Sometimes, however, the symptoms are so severe that can affect the quality of life of patients. Many existing treatments, but the most recommended are placing a splint immobilizing the wrist and local infiltration with corticosteroids, being the definitive surgical treatment
