Abstract

Kinship is built around heteronormativity. In this way, that families which have been built far from this principle can be discriminated. Some of these discriminations are related to adoption and assisted reproduction. The main purpose of this paper is to show howheteronormativity influences adoption and assisted reproduction in same-sex families. This is an ethnographic study of five adoptive families and eleven assisted reproduction families. Results show that there are some laws that discriminate same-sex families in adoption and assisted reproduction processes. It is necessary to enact laws that not discriminate on account of sexual orientation
