Resum
«108. Cuchillo de Palo» is a documentary film directed by Paraguayan filmmaker Renate Costa. The numerical title «108» is code in Paraguay for the homosexual collective, referring to lists of gay men that were issued for public ridicule during the long dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner. Renate Costa is concerned with one of the names on those list, that of her uncle Rodolfo. From the documentary «108», the work proposes to establish relationships between teaching of history and historical memory in Paraguay. The aim is to reflect on the difficulties involved in the construction of historical memory in a country where the management of the recent past and the exercise of memories continues to be a territory of disputes
