Análisis sociolingüístico de la pérdida de /x/ en un grupo de inmigrantes granadinos procedentes de Pinos Puente

Sociolinguistic analysis of the loss of /x/ in a group of Granada inmigrants coming from Pinos Puente». This paper presents a sociolinguistic research of an extreme case of the Spanish phonological system: the elision of the velar phoneme /x/. More specifically, we analyse the variation of this phoneme conditioned by linguistic variables such as age, sex, education and style, among others. With this purpose in mind, we have selected a group of people coming from Pinos Puente (town in Granada), which at present is living in the capital of Granada. The total number of speakers, seventy-two, was stratified according to sex and was divided into different generation groups and educational levels. The thorough immersion in this speech community is what reveals the existence of certain opposed sociolinguistic attitudes concerning the phenomenon studied. For this reason, we analyse the guidelines that determine the existence of an ongoing linguistic change.
