Zusammenfassung

Starting from Ibn ʿĀṣim’s Andalusian version, we present a study of one of the branches of the tale type ATU 1296B in Spanish literature. We show several new literary versions from the 18th and 19th centuries, and others printed in the press. We also note its connection with a 'novella' of Straparola and a French farce, as well as the parallels between a version from the Golden Age and an episode of "Aesop’s Life".
