Resumen

Introducción: Actualmente, la inteligencia emocional supone uno de los aspectos más importantes en la concepción de un desarrollo integral del estudiantado Objetivos: El objetivo principal de esta investigación es detallar los niveles de inteligencia emocional en los estudiantes, así como establecer las relaciones entre esta variable, índice de masa corporal, sexo y tipo de deporte practicado. Métodos: Por esta razón, se ha llevado a cabo un estudio de carácter descriptivo donde han participado 189 estudiantes de la provincia de Granada, usando para la recogida de los datos un cuestionario socio académico ad hoc y el test Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24). Resultados y discusión: Los datos exhiben que los estudiantes que practican deportes colectivos que impliquen contacto obtienen mejores resultados emocionales que aquellos que no practican ningún tipo de deporte. Conclusiones: La modalidad deportiva y el sexo son factores claves para el desarrollo de la inteligencia emocional.
