Zusammenfassung

The thesis is focus on the inclusion of medium-sized rings, specifically, octagonal and nonagonal rings, into polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in order to evaluate how the structure and the properties of the compounds are affected by the inclusion of those rings. Additionally, it studies the advantages of doping those structures with nitrogen atoms in order to use them as sensors.
