Resumen

La evaluación de la condición física en jóvenes es importante desde el punto de vista educativo, deportivo y la salud. El proyecto FitBack, financiado por la Comisión Europea, ha desarrollado una herramienta que permite interpretar los resultados de la evaluación de la condición física en niños/as y adolescentes de forma individualizada. El objetivo del estudio fue presentar la metodología científica y la utilidad práctica de plataforma a las y los educadores físico deportivos. Se han recopilado datos de jóvenes europeos de 6 a 18 años para generar una base de datos de referencia de condición física. Se ha utilizado la batería de test ALPHA que ha demostrado previamente ser fiable, válida y relacionada con la salud. Con la batería ALPHA se mide la capacidad cardiorrespiratoria, fuerza muscular y antropometría. Los percentiles se obtuvieron utilizando el método GAMLSS. Se han recopilado en torno a 8.000.000 de datos de 34 países (106 bases de datos) para desarrollar los percentiles específicospara sexo y edad. Se ha generado una plataforma multilingüe e interactiva que permite la creación automática de informes individuales sobre los niveles de condición física y propuestas de mejora. Este estudio muestra la base científica y funcionalidad de la plataforma FitBack, que se presenta como una herramienta que ofrece múltiples posibilidades a las y los educadores físico deportivos para valorar los niveles de condición física de la población joven.
