Predictibilidad y creatividad narrativa

Resum

Divergent thinking involves the development of skills and flexible attitudes , which helps avoid or reduce the effects of cognitive biases caused by an anticipated need for cognitive closure . Method : Participants were university students (N=60 , M=21.40 , SD=3.08 ). The research was conducted during the academic year 2015 - 16 . The instrument was a questionnaire consisting of the Need for Closure Scale (NF C ) and an Imagination Test to measure the level of n arrative c reativity . Three groups were formed according to this level . Next, a statistical comparison of the means of the data obtained from the NF C scale , specifically the dimension of predictability , for the two extreme groups (Group - 0 and Group - 2) was performed. Results: The statistical analysis showed significant differences (Group - 0: M=30.88 , SE = 6.47 ; and Group - 2: M=26.00 , SE = 6.80 , t ( 30) =2.08 , p < .046, d =.73 , r =.34 ). Conclusions : It is important to understand and control the predictability bias , to prevent or reduce the negative effects it can have on the development of imagination and divergent thinking
