Resumen

Halieutic activity in the province of Cádiz dates back to ancient times, since it is an ancestral relationship between man and sea that could be dated 300,000 years ago thanks to the archaeological evidence found on both sides of the Strait of Gibraltar. However, no fishing gear that is still used today on the coast has enjoyed the history and prestige that has the almadraba. This millenary fishing art has crossed the fishing field and has installed itself in the collective imagination, inspiring many authors throughout the history of our literature. The purpose of this study is to bring the reader closer to the history, functioning and terminology of this art through the eyes of different writers who have been attracted by the fishing of tuna with this fishing art. Key words: almadraba, literature, tuna fishing, seafaring language of almadraba.
