Resumo

This paper sets out to think about the relationship between belief and reasonable faith in the political conception of justice. To achieve this goal, it shows why political philosophy has the task of defending reasonable faith in the possibility of a just constitutional regime. Secondly, it develops the role that the virtue of reasonableness has in the construction of that democratic political culture required by that constitutional regime. And finally, the article shows how that defence of a just constitutional regime makes real the defence of the unity of reason as the supreme court of appeal to build a society according to the principles of justice
