José Ruiz is an artist who has decided to be confined during the quarantine caused by the COVID-19 in the art gallery Espacio El Dorado (Bogota , Colombia). As part of the project “Impression on present”, he has been in lockdown for 109 days doing a “print quarantine” that reflects on present concept using of the word “Today. Before confinement, visitors provided a sentence that contained that word followed by a personal, group, national, global or universal concern, which was printed to form part of the artistic installation made in the gallery. Nowadays, the sentence reception is done via internet. An experience that is also broadcast live 24 hours a day. This is a project with backgrounds based on his interest in archives and publications that he has been developing for years. Through this interview we will understand your trajectory, the background of the project and your experience during the confinement at the art gallery.
