Abstract

Despite the coronavirus pandemic and the unlawful aggression against Ukraine, the Conference on the future of Europe was launched in 2021 and delivered its final report on May 9th 2022. The European Parliament, the Commission and the Council committed themselves to follow up the recommendations contained in that report. This editorial comment discusses the reasons behind this commitment, but also on the blind spots it has left, and the uncertainties raised by how the European institutions are fulfilling its mandate.
