Abstract

Intestinal perforations caused by foreign bodies are rare, more usually occurring by accidental ingestion of foreign bodies with food[1]. The areas most commonly affected by these intestinal perforations are the ileocecal region and the rectosigmoid junction due to their anatomical characteristics; however, transverse colon perforations are exceptional[2]. We present the case of a patient with perforation of the transverse colon by a fish bone, that manifested by a tumor in the epigastric region, which could be solved through laparoscopy. We discuss the most appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic methods in this type of pathology.
