Resum

In summary, Cu effect on the greenhouse gas N2O emissions by soybean and alfalfa nodules, as well as the involvement of denitrification of their respective endosymbionts, represent the central subject of this Thesis. Furthermore, the understanding about the control of denitrification in the model rhizobium B. diazoefficiens is also developed. This knowledge has allowed us to propose Cu as another essential factor in denitrification control at both transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels. The involvement of the CsoR regulator in this control is suggested as future research perspectives. To conclude, the knowledge provided by this Thesis is a key to design efficient strategies to reduce N2O emissions from crops and, more specifically, from legumes.
