Physical exercise is used in practice as a means of prevention and recovery from musculoskeletal injuries. Fruit and vegetable workers have a physically demanding type of task that can lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The objective of this study was to compare the effect of the development, during the working day, of a progressive, adapted and supervised physical exercise program on physical condition, spinal morphology, perceived health and perception of musculoskeletal pain. With a sample of 54 workers divided into an experimental group (n=34) and a control group (n=20), the physical exercise program was performed twice a week, in sessions of 30 minutes each (1 hour in total at the week) and for 26 weeks. Evaluations were performed 1 week before the intervention (pre-test) and 1 week after the intervention (post-test). After the intervention, the experimental group improved in a statistically significant way in their physical condition, perceived health and perception of musculoskeletal pain. Carrying out a progressive, adapted and supervised physical exercise program has positive effects on the health, perceived pain and physical condition of fruit and vegetable workers.
