Abstract

This doctoral thesis, entitled "Identification of Palliative Needs, Frailty, Complexity and Expected Survival in Complex Chronic Patients in Andalusia", began with the formulation of the following questions: What are the characteristics of Complex Chronic Patients who live in nursing homes? How could the appropriate moment in which Palliative Care should be implemented be identified in complex chronic residents? Would a comprehensive assessment of complex chronic residents with a palliative approach be useful in the context of nursing homes? This thesis is part of the " NUHELP " Project (Development and implementation of an end-of-life care program in nursing homes - NUrsing homes end of life care Program ), funded by the Andalusian Health Service (AP-0105-2016). Specifically, it is related to its first objective "To conduct a comprehensive assessment and developa personalized care plan adapted to the palliative needs detected".
