Abstract
We present the case of a bilateral primary ovarian leiomyoma (a rare type of lesion) in a 54-year-old woman who showed adnexal mass. The abdominal CT scan showed an abdominal mass of 200x98x150 mm. The patient underwent a total hysterectomy and a bilateral oophorectomy. The histopathological study showed that it was a primary ovarian leiomyoma. Primary ovarian leiomyomas are rare and often underdiagnosed tumors. They are benign, with a 100% survival after 5 years.
