Resumen
In this proposal, we review the main characteristics of the degree at the Faculty of Transla-tion and Interpreting (FTI) of the University of Granada (UGR), in addition to identifying the weak and strong points of the degree in terms of the connection between Academia and the professional world according to the TI students’ perceptions. Graduates’ employability in the different degrees that coexist has become one of the objectives, as well as one of the attractions, that differentiate some universities and educational institutions from others. In our proposal, we analyze the educational offer of the Degree in Translation and Interpreta-tion (TI) of the University of Granada, where a key compulsory subject for the future of the graduates is offered, entitled “La profesión del traductor e intérprete”. Beyond describing the subject itself, this proposal analyzes, based on a pilot empirical research, the impact of translation and interpreting studies on the training of future graduates, particularly in the case of the University of Granada.
