Abstract
Introduction: Conjunctival amyloidosis is a uncommon disease, usually unilateral. Its typical finding is the deposit of extracellular hyaline material in the conjunctiva. Clinical case: We report A 64-year-old patient with a pinkish-yellow mass extending from the caruncle to the nasal conjunctiva of the right eye. Histological study revealed the presence of amyloid material, confirmed by congo red staining. After discarding systemic disease, a simple extirpation of the lesion with conjunctival plasty was performed. Conclusion: Conjunctival amyloidosis has a wide variability of signs and symptoms. Differential diagnosis must be made with other conjunctival lesions and rule out systemic association.
