Resumen

We analyze the main trends of the Nasrid elites in investment, acquisition and exploitation of rural estates located in the “Vega de Granada”, the peri-urban area that surrounded the capital of the Nasrid emirate. First, we approach the Vega as a historical region, then we offer some notes on the particularities of the various Nasrid elites and their properties. Particular attention is paid to property belonging to the Nasrid royal family, including the women of the dynasty. Among these assets we will highlight the munà: estates that had functions of recreation, agricultural exploitation and representation of power.
