Resumo
In the present essay we will study the nature of the lycantrophy and the diabolical posessions through the medical understanding that the Cistercian friar Antonio José Rodríguez made in his work: Palestra crítico-médica, with its first volume published in 1731. This author will show a vision distant toward the common Western thought, in order to inscribe these illnesses in the clinical corpus of the mental disorders, specifically the Melancholy.
