Resumo

Copper production has been a key element in the historiographical debate on the development and socio-economic organisation of Copper and Bronze Age societies in the south of the Iberian Peninsula. In this case, Sierra Morena was one of the most important copper-producing centres in the peninsula during the most recent prehistory, as suggested by the growing body of archaeological and archaeometric evidence, especially lead isotope analysis. This paper pres-ents a brief analysis of the main documented archaeomineral stays associated with mining and metallurgical activity (pits, tools, and remains of the metallurgical process) from this period in Sierra Morena.
