Resumen

The action-research study presented in this chapter shows the process followed to improve the practicum program of the Primary Education Degree of the Faculty of Education of Granada through a new practicum model based on the teacher leader approach. The purpose of this new practicum model for the training of future teachers is not only to improve the professionalizing potential of teachers but also to guide it toward the training of future teacher leaders. The results obtained after promoting this new practicum model are very positive, although at the same time it should be noted that it causes some resistance since the figure of the teacher leader is not recognized in Spain. Therefore, this chapter helps identify a series of problems and possible solutions to improve the training of future teachers, with the figure of the teacher leader as its ultimate goal.
