Resum

Background. The Degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Granada, is the only degree in the areas of Science and Engineering taught at the Faculty of Education, Economics and Technology of Ceuta. Students interested in pursuing technical careers access to this degree, not for vocation but for lack of options. This causes a high student dropout rate in the first courses, linked to the lack of motivation. Method. We have developed stimulating and attractive activities that allow the students to face course contents with solvency. In order to guide freshmen students, we have organized a Tutorial Action Plan (PAT), which allow us to make a personalized tutoring of students and organize training activities to improve academic performance. Work in the classroom is organized as part of a Teaching Innovation Project. We use activities based on active methodologies in order to improve students’ motivation. Results and Conclusions. Both experiences have been evaluated using student satisfaction questionnaires, obtaining positive results.
