The main purpose of the present piece of research is to analyze direct and buffer effects of social support on immigrants' well-being, taking into account the problems of this population in the receiving context. The sample of the study is composed of 100 Moroccan immigrants living in the province of Almería, who answered the ASSIS social support interview (Barrera, 1980), the satisfaction with life scale (Diener et al., 1985), and a needs assessment interview. Results show a direct effect of the variables type of housing, legal situation, perception of rejection and satisfaction with social support, on immigrants' well-being. Moroccans who live in houses and perceive a low level of rejection are the ones who benefit more from social support, so the buffer effect is not confirmed in this population.
