Abstract

Menopause is a biological process that produces changes that frequently affect the biological, psychological and social level and that usually accompany women during postmenopause. Taking into account that a high percentage of women spend a third of their lives in this period and the multiple symptoms that accompany it, the purpose of this doctoral thesis was to analyze cognitive abilities in postmenopausal women older than 65 years and the possible associations between them with the quality of sleep, risk of sarcopenia and physical abilities and dependency it works. For this, were used sociodemographic and anthropometric data and cognitive variables were evaluated with the MMSE, Moca, Isaacc test, TMT and Stroop tests. Anxiety and depression were evaluated with HADS, sleep quality with PSQI, functional dependence with the Barthel index, and physical variables were evalauted with the TUG test, SPPB tests, and a manual dynamometer.
