Resumen
In 1939, as exiles from the Civil War, a large group of Spaniards linked to the film industry arrived in Mexico. The specific conditions of the Mexican seventh art in the 40's, which together with the Argentinean country was at the head of the Latin American film industry, will allow the continuation, or the beginning, of the exiled Spaniards in the different professional fields of cinema The film directors Luis Buñuel and Carlos Velo; and the film critic Emilio García Riera. Their diverse contributions to the film industry will make them key figures in understanding the history of Mexican cinema in the 20th century, clearly contributing to the expansion process in which the Aztec country was immersed upon their arrival. This text analyzes the vision given in the productions, in which Spanish exiles participated, about Mexico City.
