Dr. Huertas-Delgado is a researcher specialized in the field of physical activity and active commuting, with extensive experience both as a researcher and as a university lecturer. His research spans several areas, including: the promotion of physical activity among school-aged populations, the encouragement of active commuting to school, and the relationship between families, physical activity, and active commuting. Since 2007, he has taught a total of 360 ECTS credits, which is equivalent to approximately 3,600 hours of university teaching. His teaching has been rated “Excellent” by the Vice-Rectorate for Quality at the University of Granada, with a score of 98.239 out of 100. The subjects he has taught have also undergone external teaching quality evaluations by the Andalusian Foresight Center, receiving an average score of 4.89 out of 5. He has supervised 62 Bachelor's Theses and 13 Master's Theses, and has also supervised one PhD dissertation, which was defended in July 2021. He is currently supervising another PhD student and is the advisor of an FPU fellowship recipient (2022), and two other students with FPU fellowships (2024). He has led two teaching innovation projects funded by the University of Granada. He has held several academic management roles, including: Coordinator of International Relations Coordinator of the Early Childhood Education Degree Director of the “Centro de Magisterio La Inmaculada”, a teaching center affiliated with the University of Granada Dr. Huertas-Delgado has been a member of two research groups at the University of Granada: from 2008 to 2016, CTS-545 (Biomechanics and Ergonomics for Health and Sport), and since 2016, CTS-1018 (Physical Activity for Health Promotion). He has published over 60 scientific articles, including more than 40 in JCR-indexed journals (with over 30 in Q1 and Q2) and more than 20 in Scopus-indexed journals. He has made over 80 contributions to international conferences, approximately 40 of which have been published in high-impact journals. Additionally, he has participated in: 1 European project 4 national R&D projects 5 regional or provincial projects He is the principal investigator of the project “IDEA-Kids: Boosting Active Commuting to School, Motivational Strategies for Boys and Girls” (C-SEJ-190-UGR23), funded by the Regional Government of Andalusia with FEDER-European Union funds. He has completed a 4-month research stay at Ghent University, a 3-month stay at Cardiff Metropolitan University, and a 1-week research visit at the Technical University of Munich. He has also taken part in several Erasmus Teaching mobility stays in Salerno, Milan, and Rome.
