Ligdamis A. Gutierrez E. Graduated Engineer in Information Systems from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at the Catholic University of Nicaragua (UNICA), August 2000, he received High Honor Distinction and Silver medal to Academic Record. In March 2001 he obtained a post-graduate degree in Informatics and Computing with Master Studies in Computer Networks from the Engineering University of Nicaragua (UNI). In September 2003 he was awarded a MAE AECCI Fellowship for doctoral studies at the Granada University (Ugr), Spain. In November 2004 he receiverd the Certificate of the third cycle teaching period. With the rating of outstanding in the Granada University. In January 2005 he received the certified of Advanced Studies of the third cycle (DEA), credited to the research sufficiency in the Granada University. In January 2010 he received the official Master in Multimedia Technology degree in School of Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering (ETSIIT), in the Granada University. In September 2010, the General Directorate of University Policy of the Ministry of Education of Spain, in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 285/2004, of February 20, approved The official Spanish university degree of Computer Engineer. In March 2011 he received the official Master of Science degree in Geophysics and Meteorology (GEOMET), based on the thesis “Initial Steps in building a classifier seismic -volcanic event system with Hidden Markov Models (HMMs): Application at Telica volcano in Nicaragua”. In the same year he enrolled in PhD program of Earth Sciences at the Granada University. Graduating PhD in Earth Sciences in September 2013, with Cum Laude, specializing in Seismology and Geophysics. Dissertation: Detection and classification of seismic-volcanic signals using Hidden Markov Models (HMMs): Application to Active volcanoes in Nicaragua and Italy. Scientific publications from 2005 to the time of Dr. Gutiérrez's doctoral thesis include publications in high scientific impact journals such as the: "Frontiers in Earth Science", "Scientific Reports", "Journal of Geophysical Research", "Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research", two chapters in two scientific books and various presentations at scientific conferences throughout several countries. Experience in university teaching in 5 universities, 3 in Nicaragua, 2 in Ecuador and at the UGR Spain. Teaching activity runs for almost two decades in 5 foreign universities, three in Nicaragua: The American University (UAM) in (2013-2014 and 2020), the Polytechnic University of Nicaragua (UPOLI) (2002-2003) and the University of Commercial Sciences (UCC) (2003,2007). He has worked at two universities in Ecuador, as a research professor at the Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic University (IGEPN) in Quito (2014-2015), as a Geophysics 3, SP13, Grade 19, and the second at the Technical University of Ambato (UTA) (2015-2016). Working as a research professor at the Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Also, as coordinator of scientific project. In Spain, he has held full-time contracts: A) 2019 Granada City Council. As a Database Computer Engineer. Development of applications with NATURAL language, PERL and ADABAS Database. Development of modules for the Municipal Information System, with HTML, CSS, Javascript and EXTJS tools. B) 2017 Cadiz City Council. Computer teacher for vocational training groups. Institute for the Promotion of Employment and Training (IFEF). Since 2021, he has been working as a researcher with a project (PDI) in the Department of Theoretical and Cosmos Physics of the Faculty of Sciences at the UGR. He is also attached to the Andalusian Institute of Geophysics and Prevention of Natural Disasters (IAGPDS) of the University of Granada (UGR).
