Resumen

Military vehicles are used in “Defense” and “Training” functions, but also participate in “Military operations other than war” (MOOTW), such as supporting citizens in emergency situations, incorporating additional use of these under different types of conditions. On the other hand, from an environmental perspective, carbon emissions in Chile (and in the world) have doubled in recent years, so it is important to find solutions for this problem, where military vehicles also contribute to pollution. In this order of ideas, this thesis makes a review of the “State of the art” in the field of electric vehicles and electro mobility in Chile, in the search to adopt techniques and good practices, to propose the application of these in a means of transport of troops, through the conversion to electric vehicle (EV), analyzing the different energy storage systems available, along with the methods and devices for recharging them. All this, aimed at reducing the impact on the environment produced by the combustion pollutant gases. The results allow us to determine if electro mobility leads to real environmental benefits, compared to the current propulsion system installed in an archetypal vehicle. Finally, in order to have a consensus on the proposed solution, in a second phase, its results were analyzed by a group of “Experts”, through the application of the DELPHI method.
