Resumo

In this paper we present a research on future primary school teachers� capacity and strategies in comparing probabilities. We take into account the different levels of difficulty in comparing fractions identified by Noelting as well as subjective elements that are included in some items. Results were better than those in research carried out with 10-14 year-olds children, but not in all the items and suggest great difficulty of participants in solving these tasks. We conclude with some implications for training teachers in probability.
