Abstract
This paper aims to establish links between Meaningful Learning Theory (MLT) of Ausubel et al. with visualization in Science. To do this we started from the growing importance that this perspectives gaining for young people to obtain information and the consequent need for help for visual literacy in Science from the educational field. After that the fundamental assumptions of ML are synthesized and we show some of the research lines on visualization in Science and their educational applications with the help of separate figures. The contact points between the two topics are discussed and specified. The conclusions include a recapitulation of what has been described above in the section and a didactic corollary is incorporated with its own images and drawn from other sources to illustrate the different utilities that these may possess within the treatment described here.
