Abstract
This paper looks at the teaching methodology and activities carried out with high school students to overcome the difficulty of understanding how groundwater discharge feeds into river flow. A model of guided research is followed, through which the student follows the steps of the research process with guidance from the teacher. The need for practical activities is examined, such as measuring river flow in an environment close to the students and comparing the data with its basin rainfall, with a view to developing their knowledge and highlighting the importance of groundwater in the water cycle.
