Abstract

Since 2008, the University of Granada in developing a training program for beginning university professors. One phase of this program is to assign a consultant or mentor to the beginning teacher. This mentor is a senior professor tha belongs to the same subject area or related, that building on his personal experiences and greater perspective of the teaching context, try to help the novice teacher. The mentor attends the classes of the novice teacher in order to identify the weaknesses or wrong practices, and help him to exploit the strengths observed.
